Kids

 

Kids are more than welcome.  The playground, placed a few meters away from the house, offers children a safe place to play and socialize, and parents the possibility of keeping an eye of them without leaving the house. A number of traditional wooden games with instructions in English are also available in the house, and plugging their game console in the TV is also an option.

Pets

 

Pets are considered, provided that they have a valid health certificate and are under the visitors’ continuous control.

 

Accessibility

 

Because of its traditional architectural design The Olive Tree House is not accessible by wheelchair. Alternative options for house rental in the greater Palaiokastritsa area could be provided.

Transport

 

Exploring Corfu town and the greater area of Paleokastritsa is made easy with frequent public transport; however visitors are recommended to rent private transport, as Corfu is a large island with many points of interest to discover. A valid EU driving license is necessary for renting a car or bike. Parking is free in the neighbourhood, but no specific parking space is assigned to the house.

Working from home

 

The Olive Tree House has a fast internet connection, which would allow the visitors to work from home if needed. Visitors that require high quality printing, scanning, or faxing facilities are recommended to use the nearby workstations. These are local business that will charge extra for their services. The nearest one is within 5 minutes walk from the house.

 

 

Houseware

The Olive Tree House is fully equipped with high quality bedding, towels and fine tableware; visitors do not need to bring any houseware.

Complementary services

 

The House Manager will ensure that cleaning services, the changing of bedding and towels and bath amenities are all provided on a regular basis, i.e. twice per week. For an additional charge, we can also provide additional services, such us transportation or ironing services, or even supply pure extra virgin olive oil, wine and other fresh local goods (fish, eggs, fruits and vegetables) subject to availability.

 

Long-term rental

 

Visitors who wish to stay at The Olive Tree House for a longer period of time will benefit from a substantially lower rate when booking long-term. Learn more>>

 

 

The best time to visit Corfu

 

A number of celebrations and cultural events take place throughout the year in Corfu. Museums, art galleries, restaurants, bars,cafés, theatres and clubs are always open to the public. The Olive Tree’s calendar is regularly updated with the most important events. Weather wise, mid-May to mid-October is the warmest season, and most convenient for outdoor activities and sightseeing.

 

Language

 

The official language is Modern Greek; however, the majority of people speak English. German and Italian are also among the most spoken languages in Corfu.

Eligibility to visit Corfu

 

Visitors from EU need a valid passport to enter Greece. Visitors from non EU countries are advised to check their eligibility in the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs webpage or the Greek Embassy in their country. For more information, visitors could also advise the Greek National Tourism Organisation or the International Air Transport Association.

Terms and conditions

 

Visitors will be provided with a house manual, where detailed information regarding the house rental is available. They will be asked to confirm that they have received, read and understood this handbook and that they intend to comply with its content ahead of their arrival. Visitors will be given a Single Point Of Contact, accessible 24 hours a day by e-mail and mobile, with whom they can communicate in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish or Greek.
